There are so many beautiful beaches in Turkey that it is impossible to cover all the best ones to go to. In Part II, a few more of Turkey’s top beaches are featured.

Icmeler Beach

İçmeler_sahiliThis beach offers a lot to tourists – shady spots to retreat to when it is too hot, plenty of bars and restaurants, and a beautiful beach. This means that it will also be very busy. There are showers to wash off the sand at the end of the day before making your way to the bar.

Cirali Beach

Cirali Beach is great for both daytime sunbathing and swimming, and night time stargazing. It is a great choice for families. There are restaurants along the beach for long, lazy lunches and boat tours for some sightseeing.

Patara Beach

This is one the beaches where you have to pay to enter. It is in the old Lycian city of Patara. The beach is also a breeding ground for turtles and is a protected area. The sand is almost pure white. It is 12km long and it is one of the largest beaches in Turkey. It is also one of the most beautiful.

Altinkum Beach

A beautiful, clean, sandy beach that offers sunbed service. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The shallow water is great for children, but take note that the beach gets very crowded in the afternoon so be sure to book that sunbed early!

Calis Beach

A friendly, cosmopolitan beachfront that still retains it’s Turkish heritage. It is not a very sandy beach, mostly pebbles, but it offers plenty of shelter. There are plenty of shops along this beach – perfect for buying gifts. The promenade has many restaurants to choose from – go in the afternoon and enjoy a beautiful sunset while having dinner.
